Aims of Workshop:
· To demonstrate how anxiety occurs. · To demonstrate how it is maintained · To explore and develop new coping strategies
· Introduce course participants to the idea of how anxiety can be managed by using cognitive behaviour therapy techniques.
Outcomes; · Course participants will have a basic knowledge and understanding of how anxiety develops, and what maintains it. · Course participants will have two basic relaxation techniques. · Course participants will be able to identify triggers that cause anxiety. · Course participants will have learnt new coping strategies to manage their anxiety.
· Course participants will have an anxiety management plan, which will provide useful techniques in long term maintenance of physical and emotional well being.
